"...those core groups of Obama supporters -- blacks, Hispanics, young voters...." -- So in other words, people who aren't racist, don't support illegal aliens, and are mature, informed, and wise enough to make sound judgments do not support Obama.

but We don't want DEMS in! Look at what they've already done! The most egregious of all they have done was not listen to the voters. Well, once we vote them out they won't have to avoid us any longer.

"How Democrats Can Avoid a Blowout this November?" ******************************* Sorry CBS.Its too little too late.In November America will begin to fix the mistake it made when elected Obama. Our first black Muslim President was a frustration, a complete disgrace.

What Democrats need to do is show people that they actually represent the policies they talk about; instead of being just a "democratic" version of the GOP. The trouble is that Obama has shown himself to be a president that says one thing and does the opposite. He was elected because people were fed up with Bush; instead he just continued the same inane Bush policies. He had enough people behind him when he started to make some real changes, instead he tried to change everything with his promises, and actually changed nothing. The people looked to the democrats to support them; we already have a party that supports the filthy rich, we don't need another. Either we truly have a two party system, or we need to do away with both of them. People are sick of a government that only supports the rich. We want our democracy back, not just the PROMISE of it!

Support the rise of a democratic socialist (or even better, Christian Socialist) party, and you will get the party you seek that represents working folks instead of the rich.

Republican leaders are already admitting repeal of Health Care Reform will not be possible unless they get 60 senators. Still unrealistic considering it takes 67 to override a presidential veto of such a law. The same will be true of any Defense of Marriage amendments to the constitution or changes to the 14th amendment or the removal of any others they have campaigned on like modification of the 1st, 4th and 5th amendments. Abortion changes in the law are equally unlikely. A few Republican Leaders are admitting the truth about the lies they have been feeding US Voters particularly the more radical elements of the Tea Party and Social Conservatives. More of the same for those that have been repeatedly disappointed by the Republicans -- promise the world and DELIVER NOTHING.

But if they win the House they don't have to fund it. Doesn't have to be repealed, not funding it accomplishes the same.

The Republicans propose to continue to allow MORE WALL STREET (the new rights to commit fraud and theft) abuses with Taxpayer dollars by privatizing MEDICARE AND SOCIAL SECURITY to continue to allow the WALL STREET firms to increase their compensation even further at the expense of seniors in this country. Then there is the other criminal right Republicans support creating in this country -- Rapists' rights -- to assure all children conceived by rapists will be solely supported by the RAPIST's VICTIM.

The facts about the party that has increased the national debt when in the presidency is very clear -- and it is not the Democrats. Furthermore the Tea Party Republicans have been blocking numerous efforts to rain in issues involving debt. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_debt_by_U.S._presidential_terms

I see that Reagan, Daddy Bush, and Son Bush all raised the national debt/GDP, while Bill lowered it. However, the accusation against Obama is that he is increasing it faster than any of the neo-con presidents ever did. There is no data on this web page for Obama's current debt.

In short, they can't. Americans know their record, and that is what incumbents have to run on. While in power, this current group of Democrats have damaged this nation, and the voters know it. The behind the doors political dealings, producing a horrible and corrupt health care bill, cause the majority of Americans more cost for health care. The decision to wait after the election to vote on continuing President Bush's tax cuts, cause most Americans to face higher taxes come January. Their actions in expanding the federal government on the backs of businesses and taxpayers, has caused a longer recession with high unemployment. They have inflected greater pain on a suffering nation. The damage is done, and no spin can fool the American people. They have given the party over to left wing extremist progressives, and the nation is paying for it. I am not a member of any political party, and I have never yet voted a straight party ticket. However, this year, I don't see how I can vote for any Democrat.

You were so patient when Bush was the decider in chief with a rubberstamp congress for 6 years, just the time to create this mess. After one and a half year of this administration and the obstructionism of the GOP, you expect miracles ? What a joke ...

abbe91: You are right that several administrations and members of Congress have contributed to the national debt. However, this Congress and President Obama have accelerated the debt problem. I am not a member of any party, and I have never yet voted a straight party ticket; but this irresponsible and outrageous federal spending has to stop. We are at a point where close to 20% of the national budget goes to pay only the interest on the debt. This is crazy.
